What is Copywriting?
Copywriting is all the writing you use to sell your products and services to customers. This should be all of your writing. (E-mails, invoices, etc.) But I appreciate that only your relatively static materials (websites, sales letter, brochures, drip emails, and the like) will generally be hired out. In any case, that's what copywriting is.
Now I can sit here and tell you that I write copy with the best of them, but you're reading my work on this site. You can pretty much decide for yourself if I can write. (Of course I'm kind of casual here, and can adapt my style to your business.)
But here's what I'll tell you: I've been writing professionally since 2001. I've published countless books and articles, have written speeches for virtually all occasions, and have written for plenty of websites and sales letters and print ads and much more.
Of course I've studied copywriting by the very best, and have written copy for one of the largest direct mail companies in America.
But wait -- that's not all. (Talk about classic copywriting!) There are other talented copywriters in the world. But I'll bet I've got the best total package for you, because I'm also a former copy editor. So I rarely get things like punctuation and grammar wrong. (Even the best copywriters get this stuff wrong all the time. If I get it "wrong," it's usually on purpose for the sake of better copy.)
I'm also pretty handy with design, so I can make the writing look good. Often you'd have to pay two sources for writing and design, but I combine them when needed. (Or work with a graphic designer of your choice.)
